What is the Session?
In the Presbyterian Church (USA), the decision-making body of the local congregation is called the Session. It is made up of men and women who have been elected by the congregation, ordained as Ruling Elders, and installed for a term, usually 3 years. The decisions they make range from when the sacraments will be administered, to what the operating budget will look like.
