Here we are, Gathered together as a family

First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca is an inter-generational congregation growing in our exuberant love for our Lord Jesus Christ as we strive to live out our baptisms in our lives and our community. We explore life’s questions and our journeys of faith, accepting and nurturing these diverse pathways believing that God works through all things for good. Our members continue to stretch and explore opportunities to serve the Lord and their neighbors.

The heart of our church family is our weekly worship services, held each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in our historic sanctuary. Here we gather together to hear the Word read and proclaimed in Scripture and sermon, to participate by singing and praying together, and to be drawn into worship through the ministry of our choral ensemble. Our worship is dynamic and creative, using the gifts given to each of us to augment the spoken word. Our orders of worship are designed to help everyone—no matter their religious background—to join in the praise of God.

We are located in Mid-Michigan, in Gratiot County, an agriculturally-based county which is also home of Alma College, a four-year liberal arts college, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Our physical campus faces the historic courthouse and county jail, and remind us of our call to welcome to the prisoner and the stranger. and to our ministry to the poor and hungry through the housing and administrative support for the Ithaca Food Pantry, a collaborative project of local community churches and organizations.
